About Me
I live in North Potomac, Maryland, in the suburbs of Washington, D.C, with my wife and three children. I have also lived in Shalimar, Florida; College Park, Maryland; Chattanooga, Tenneessee, and Fort Washington, Maryland.
I received a B.A. in mathematics from the University of Tenneessee at Chattanooga, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Professional Interests
My professional interests are in voice over IP (VoIP) and other Internet technologies such as peer-to-peer, email, RSS, instant messaging, and related topics. I'm a proficient programmer with experience in Java, C++, C#, Python, Perl, PHP, etc.
Other Interests
I have chosen German as my chosen second language. (In the interest of the world community, everyone should learn at least one foreign language, right?) If you speak German, I would enjoy the chance to chat a bit in German. I'm not so good at conversation, and so the practice would be very helpful.
In my younger days, I was a football fan. Those days seem to have passed and I have instead become a more dedicated baseball fan. I like the Baltimore Orioles, and I try to attend one or two games a year at Camden Yards. We'll see if I change my team loyalty to become a fan of the Washington Nationals.
